Halal Sourcing 2026: from a trillion-dollar market to Vietnam’s supply opportunity

Halal sourcing is evolving from a specialised segment into a global commercial ecosystem. According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy 2025, Muslim consumer spending across six key sectors reached US$2.60 trillion in 2024 and is projected to reach US$3.56 trillion by 2029; Halal Food alone accounted for about US$1.53 trillion.

Beyond Halal products: Halal across the production chain

As the market expands, sourcing requirements become more specific. Buyers look beyond individual Halal products to suppliers able to manage compliance across raw materials, production, traceability and finished goods. Are you looking for Halal-certified products, or for suppliers that support Halal requirements across the chain?

Vietnam’s room to grow in the Halal supply chain

With strong capabilities in agricultural products, processed foods and OEM/ODM manufacturing, Vietnam has significant room to expand its role. Developments in 2026 – from the Vietnam–UAE CEPA to Indonesia’s BPJPH mandatory Halal certification roadmap – bring these requirements further into focus.
